About El Rio Community Health Center Foundation
The El Rio staffs serve over 1,000 people per day, 70% of those same patients live at or below the federal poverty level. Dedicated to serving all populations including the underrepresented and uninsured, El Rio has become one of the largest non-profit, community health centers in the United States. El Rio Health Center FoundationThe foundation began operations in 2001 to raise philanthropic support and awareness for El Rio Community Health Center by building community involvement in El Rio. Together with the work and support of our donors and stakeholders, El Rio provides affordable and accessible health care to all who need it. The Foundation is governed by a passionate board of directors, and staffed by ethical professionals who are committed to building donor investment, loyalty, and trust. The Foundation raises money for El Rio's innovative programs by engaging individual donors, corporations, businesses, foundations, and philanthropic institutions. For 40 years, the El Rio Community Health Center has been working to provide quality health care that is accessible to all who need it. Today, more than 74,000 people in the Tucson community rely on the non-profit health center as their primary source of medical and dental care, including special groups such as women at-risk, children, the homeless, and persons with HIV/AIDS.
